COUNTRIES SNUCK INTO

EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

The World is a book and those who do not travel, read only a page” Saint Augustine.

HUGE BIG GOAL: Visit every country in the world and do at least 3 different working holidays before I am 30.

COUNTRIES CURRENTLY VISITED: 19/197

19 Countries or 8.44% of the world.

I will be the first to admit I have a long way to go. But by writing this down and having this blog it’s a good way to keep me honest and on track towards reaching this goal. It’s also a good motivator as I can always check this page and truly see how much progress I am making.

A FEW NOTES:

Now for some strange reason, defying a lot of logic, no one can really agree on how many countries there are in the world. Some say 225, others say 150, so in the effort of simplicity I have chosen there to be 197 – it seems to be the most popular.

Also with my current solo introverted traveller status, until I get a few travel buddies, there will be some countries I will be giving a miss to at the moment, as it is just not safe for me to venture into.

So for example a lot of Africa and the Middle East are going to be temporarily on hold until further notice. I will be going there make no mistake, just not right now.

I will also be avoiding the countries currently with war issues, for obvious reasons.

HOW TO I PLAN TO DO

Slowly, carefully and cheaply.

I have been saying in this blog constantly that travel doesn’t have to cost a lot and I stand by that. So I am not going to be spending a lot on travel, that doesn’t mean however that I won’t be travelling a lot. I plan to see at least 10 new countries each year as a starting point, before gradually getting them all down.

I will be posting on this blog how I do it in a couple of articles also my  Escapee Guides will detail specifically how I manage to travel around so cheaply.

Just remember you don’t need a real job in the real world to travel the world. I only do about 15 hours at the most, at a traditionally day job each week and I still travel a lot. I have income coming in from other ventures that leave me with all the free time I need.

WORKING HOLIDAYS

Why working holidays? Well over time I have come to realise that I could do a succession of 90 days jaunts all over the world. (The typical amount of time a Australian is allowed to stay in a country without a visa).

Or I could do a couple of working holidays and actually live in those countries that I loved for up to two years.

It was a no brainer really.

Working Holidays are also the best and cheapest way I know to successfully live cheaply and never have a real job in the real world.

But sometimes I get a bit spacey and as such my working holiday goal wasn’t getting off the ground as quickly as I would have liked. So the idea to combine my working holiday goals with my countries goals was born.

What better way to see the world?
